The future on tap

Responding to the market need for a low-cost and single-trip container for bulk beverages, EcoKeg was founded in 2002 in Melbourne, Australia. EcoKeg purchased the existing patents for the technology of One-Way-Kegs (OWKs), which was in early development at Carlton & United Breweries Ltd. (Division of the Foster’s Group Limited).

With the patent successfully acquired, EcoKeg formed strategic alliances with a number of companies in the brewing & packaging industries. In March 2003 after registering additional patents, EcoKeg revealed the first working model OWK. Many brewers and beverage producers have committed to fieldtrialling the OWK, having seen the benefits. The technology for an OWK made primarily from plastics is absolutely new, innovative and therefore unique.

The OWK is available now from the licensed manufacturers in Taiwan and will be available from the licenced manufacturers in the U.K in November 2006.

The OWK solution is supported by a group of founders who have extensive backgrounds in the brewing and beverage industries.

These are the questions leading you to EcoKeg’s unique OWK solution:
  • Have you ever lost kegs?
  • Are your exported kegs gone too long?
  • How much does it cost to bring your empty kegs home?
  • Did you ever want to order kegs for peak periods urgently?
  • Would you like to open new »On Tap« markets?
  • Do you want to expand your market but find the cost of the keg float prohibitive?
  • Do you want to use packaging that is totally recyclable?
  • How heavy is the keg you use now?
